Would you like to help Hastings and Rother Voluntary Association for the Blind? Why not become a volunteer!
The society depends on the services of volunteers for a whole range of activities.
If you are over 25 with a minimum of 3 years’ driving experience, you may be able to drive one of our four minibuses that collect members for the John Taplin Day Centre or drive for one of our clubs.
For some of our members who are unable to access the minibuses, a private car is the means by which they can attend an activity. If you are able to use your own car to collect some of our less mobile members, we would be pleased to hear from you.
We also depend on volunteers to help at the John Taplin Day Centre, both in the kitchen preparing and serving teas, and in supporting the members through befriending. These positions are very rewarding and highly appreciated by both our visually impaired members and everyone involved in the society.
Volunteers are always needed at either of our charity shops to help sort through the donations we receive.
