Spring 2025

Hello,

From our CEO,

Fieona Farrier-Twist

As we step into the brighter day of spring/summer, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support.

This season brings with it new beginnings including some key changes in our staff. Michael Farrier-Twist who has been with us for some 12 years has moved on to more golf! He still deals with all the salaries and accounts though We’d delighted to welcome Paul Deigan into Michaels role of Low Vision Support worker, who passion and experience from Healey house are already making a positive difference to those we serve out in the community. We’re are pleased to introduce our new Care Home Manager, Susan Usher, who has taken over from Paul Deigan at Healey House - bringing valuable skills and fresh energy to our mission.

Change is a natural part of growth, and while we’ve said goodbye to a few familiar faces, such as Lyn Hardwick our Charity Admin Assistant, we are incredible grateful for their contributions and proud of the team we are building for the future. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Easter Fete

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that our recent Easter Fete was a resounding success! Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised an impressive £1063.71 towards HRVAB's mission to support local people with a sight impairment. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed – our volunteers who gave their time and energy, and, of course, to each and every person who attended and made a donation. Thank you once again for helping us spread holiday cheer and for making this year’s Christmas Fete a memorable one! Wishing you all a joyful and prosperous year ahead

VE Day - A joyous tribute at Healey House

Our Residents at Healey House and their relatives marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a joyful day of celebration.

Festooned with Union Jack bunting and wartime Decorations, the atmosphere was filled with nostalgia and pride as stories from the past were shared over burgers and summer salads.

Adding to the festivities was a livley perfomance from “Elvis” who had everyone tapping their toes or up on their feet dancing and singing along.

We’d all like to thank Susan Usher, the new Care home manager of Healey House for making this a day to remember for all.
